Hearing someone doesn’t necessarily mean we are actually listening to them, and yet, it’s extremely important to hone the skill of true listening when someone speaks. This is especially true when it comes to hearing our young people speak. They are our future.

Yes, that is a trite saying, and sadly, it seems as though the people who hold positions where they will be largely involved in decision making on a national scale sometimes forget this when they sit to write bills and resolutions. What is it going to take to get our leaders to be less self-serving and actually serve the people that they represent?

I honestly don’t know the answer to that question, but because this is something that has been on my mind for a long time, I wanted to just throw this topic out there and see what ideas come to mind. Thank you for listening.
